Cloth Nappy Rebates are Rolling Out.

Posted by Julie Love

There’s a buzz in our local area. One that I’m really buzzing about. It’s about as exciting as Local Government news can get. You can probably hear my heart singing from where you are.

The City of Casey and the Cardinia Shire Council, both which border and encompass the heartland of Aussie Bumblebeez, have introduced a rebate of up to $150 on the purchase of cloth nappies.

The Cardinia Shire Council and the City of Casey are offering a cloth nappy rebate of 50%, up to a maximum of $150 dollars.  So in short, if you happen to live in one of these brilliant councils, a Bounty Pack of 24 cloth nappies, at an already really competitive price of $400, will set you back only $250.00 after your rebate. That’s just over $10 bucks per nappy that will be used over and over and over, and will literally save you thousands of dollars every year.

It’s a win for sustainability, a win for our message, and a definite win for your pocket . Can you see why I’m singing?

Of course if you don’t live in the City of Casey or Cardinia Shire areas, make some noise to your local government. Direct them to the sustainability benefits of less landfill, less damaging and toxic disposable nappy waste going into recycling… believe me, it happens more than you think. I have been contacting as many as I can to hopefully start a new breed of thought in regards to waste, recycling, less landfill.

It makes my heart sing. What started out as a little “meep” with us die hard eco warriors is becoming a rumble. Get with us, let’s make it a roar.
